Dragons Dogma 2 Director Leaves Capcom After 30 Years Of Devotion!
Dragons Dogma 2 was released this year to great success for Capcom and the title, but it seems that after this amazing success the project's director has left.Hideaki ItsunoCapcom after nearly three decades at the company.
In a statement posted on the X platform, the developer thanked “Hideaki Itsuno“All the players and fans for their long-term support over the years,” he wrote, adding that he would be leaving the company after exactly 30 years and five months. He added that he would continue his journey of developing games and that his career would not stop when he left Capcom.
“Starting in September, I will start developing a new game in a new environment. I hope to create games that are fun, beautiful, memorable, or even more iconic than the ones I have created so far.”
The march extended Itsuno At Capcom for over three decades, he has served as director on major projects, most notably Power Stone, Devil May Cry 3, 4, and 5, and Dragon's Dogma 1 and 2, as well as producing numerous other Capcom projects.
Dragon's Dogma and its two sequels have sold over 11.7 million copies worldwide as of March 31, 2024, and with the updated numbers, the total could now exceed 15 million, a figure that includes sales of the original game and the Dark Arisen release.
